Dear High Street,
I am writing to ask you to join our leaders and me in praying for some upcoming and vital building needs. God has been so good to provide such a great building for us, which is now 44 years old. As a college student, I remember giving to help construct this building. When I think about how God has used our church, where many people have accepted Christ and countless lives have been changed, I am so glad that I sacrificed and gave. Giving to the church is one of the greatest eternal investments you can make.
As we approach the end of 2022, I'd like to inform you of three important projects. We have been blessed with a beautiful facility and have done much work to upgrade and remodel spaces over the years. God has provided the funds to do so, and for this, we are grateful. Here are our current needs:
In 2019 we began remodeling the Chapel, and then the pandemic hit. As you know, that caused our focus to shift toward doing ministry in several different ways. As a result, finishing the Chapel was put on hold. Funds given to the remodel have been used to install new flooring, paint, and provide chairs for that space. To finish this project, we need to raise the ceiling, add insulation, install new lights, and replace our outdated sound and projector system. The estimated cost to complete this is $150,000.
In the main auditorium, our overhead lights need to be replaced. Overhead lighting systems of this magnitude have a typical life expectancy of 15-20 years. Our current overhead lights have been installed and operating for over 30 years. After consulting, it is recommended that the existing lighting system be replaced with an LED lighting system with digital controls. This, in turn, will require less maintenance and most often extend overall life expectancy, reducing operating costs. There are 85 lights in the auditorium to be replaced, and the cost to replace them with LED lighting will be $185,000.
During the pandemic we opened our balcony seating. It is apparent that the flooring has a lot of wear and has aged to the point that it needs to be replaced. This project will cost $130,000.
The total cost for these three vital projects is $465,000.
