We are often asked the following questions:

1. Question: What kind of Baptist is High Street?
   Answer: We are independent fundamental Baptists, affiliated with the Baptist Bible Fellowship for the purpose of missions.
2. Question: What does fundamental mean?
   Answer: When people speak of sports, they talk of the "fundamentals of the game". That is the same way we use the word. Fundamentalists hold to the BASICS of what the Bible teaches.
   
3. Question: Why do you believe in baptism by immersion only?
   Answer: We believe that the Bible teaches immersion (or dunking) as the only method whereby people were baptized in the New Testament, it is what the word 'baptize' means, and it is the best picture of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
4. Question: Are you Southern Baptists?
   Answer: No.
5. Question: What is the difference between Southern Baptists and you?
   Answer: We are not responsible to any church governing authority, outside of the local assembly. We do not report to a governing body. Also, we differ in our method of sending and supporting missionaries. The Southern Baptist model is to allow a central management, where we encourage each church to send missionaries, and we work with other churches to support missionaries, but no one tells us who to support.
